New Korean Ramen: 뚝불면 bulgogi ramen

I don't normally recommend something. Because every individual has their own preference. But I came across with this new ramen from Nongshim. I think many foreigners would love this. I actually think this might be more popular outside of Korea than local market. (but I'm not sure it is available in market abroad, since this is a new product)

 

Since I have Canadian husband I often try different kind of packaging food. Especially for ramen, since he cannot eat too spicy ramen. I usually buy something milder than usual Korean ramen. I just notice this product in the market and I wanted to try. Since all my non-Korean friends love bulgogi, I thought this would be perfect ramen to introduct Korean food.

 

The outer package looks as below, it looks very simple, but unfortunately, I don't see any relevant photo of "bulgogi" might not be able to attract foreigners who cannot read Korean.

뚝불면 포장

If you open the packaging, first thing you would see is two packets of sauces. One is a powder kind, the other one is liquid sauce.

The instruction says you need to pour hot water till the line in the package.

Then microwave it about 2 mins and 30 sec. Ramen would look like as below after microwaving it.

Then pour the powder sauce as well as liquid sauce.

잘 섞는다

Then mix it well with chopsticks or fork, whichever you prefer and feel comfortable to use.

And of course Kimchi would be a great combination with any ramen.

It was actually pretty good, it has small beef flakes as well. If you tried bulgogi before, it has the saltiness from soy sauce and deep sweet flavour like actual bulgogi dish. However, in my opinion a bit of spiciness was there. I think the spiciness level is pretty mild less spicy than hot sauce chips like doritos.

 

I would highly recommend people to try this. Especially when you feel like eating rice with it, it would be an awesome combination as well.
